China to have over 10 AMOLED panel lines by 2015

China is expected to have more than 10 AMOLED panel lines by 2015, according to market observers.
The observers said that local panel makers such as BOE, Truly Optoelectronics, Tianyi Optoelectronics Technology, as well as many others, all have plans to run AMOLED experimental lines or start mass production of the technology between 2014-2015, adding that the makers will focus on white OLED as well as LTPS with RGB AMOLED production.
Additionally, there will be an estimated eight 8G or 8.5G TFT LCD lines in China ready for production by 2015, which will give China huge advantages in panel supply in the future, the observers noted.
Some observers, however, believe China will have a serious excess of panel supply when mass production begins on the TFT LCD and AMOLED lines. They also believe Taiwan-, Korea- and Japan-based panel makers will be at a loss in the China market as the China makers are likely to get priority from local customers.
The observers said the China government"s cooperation with panel makers has given them a huge advantage in the market, while will continue as the government invests billions of US dollars into expanding and improving the nation"s panel industry.
